Welcome to Shivam Chauhan Dance Academy
An Introduction
Shivoham SCDC: Shivam Chauhan Dance Company is delighted to introduce Indian Art Form all over the world. We are currently in the early stages of planning our debut production called “Déjà vu”.
Déjà vu is a French word literally meaning ‘already seen’. It is a phenomenon of an experience that has been experienced in the past. This dance production is an illusion of the artist’s mind, projected through different dance forms, interpreting positive and negative phases of life. A team of 12 Delhi-based dancers are coming together for this project.
In this Production
We are combining Indian art form (kathak, bharatnatyam, mayurbhanj chahu, kalaripayattu and classical singing) with balancing work (pole malkahmb and acrosutra), belly, modern ballet, acrobatics, and aerial silk.
What We Aim
Today when we are achieving so much in life, personally and professionally, we are leaving our roots behind. Our company’s main motive is to promote our Indian art form throughout the world. We want to express our thoughts, dreams through Indian art forms so that we can keep our thinking in front of our society with extreme knowledge of the Indian art form.
Concept of Déjà vu
Déjà Vu is a common intuitive experience that has happened to many of us. When it occurs, it seems to spark our memory of a place or a person we have already seen, or an act we have already done. It is a signal to pay attention to what is taking place, perhaps to receive a specific lesson in a certain area or complete what is not yet finished.
In this project, we want to reflect the life of every one of us through an individual person’s dream. Our busy schedule to our personal life, harmony to concentrate towards our aims, positive energy to our haunted dreams, self-realization to twisted relations, and how finally after hardships and challenges, there is an inner peace that keeps on motivating us to do well in life.
Brief of Déjà Vu
We are beginning with an individual person’s dream. Dream where one can include any of the images, thoughts, and emotions. Here, in the dream, a person is creating his own world which is a reflection of our society. This dream is full of vividness, very vague, filled with joyful emotions or frightening imagery imagination.
